The Morning Paper will be camped out inside The Vintage Faire Mall Friday. And they promised not to leave until they raised enough money to provide 200 deserving Modesto area families with a great holiday meal. They reached their goal early... so Jack decided to up the ante and double the goal: $20,000! Would they make it or would they have to camp out overnight inside the mall's food court?

Reagan, JoJo, T.J. and Jack squeeze into their tent.

Late in the afternoon, Reagan began to panic as they were still over $5,000 away from their goal.

So... did they make it? By 7pm, they needed over $3,000. When the mall doors closed at 9pm, they were still short by about $2,000! But as they began to prepare for their night in the food court, someone told them that Macy's would be staying open until 11 for the holiday. Thanks to two big donations... $1,000 and $500... now they were down to $300! Finally with some last minute donations, including a guilt-ridden Geno who asked listeners to hold donations until Saturday... put them over the top!

Thank you to everyone who came by and dropped off a donation. With your help, together we raised $20,000 -- enough to feed 400 Modesto area families for Christmas.

UPDATE! From the organizers: "It went Great, the Modesto Fire Department came out and helped us fill the buckets. The 400 buckets were later picked up by The Salvation Army!!!"
